A Critique of Metamorphosis

by: Ahmad Lizamuddin

franz kafkaDid you know that a human could become a cockroach? Maybe, this question never appears on our mind. Generally, physical change happens to all humans. Starting when they are born, then they grow from time to time. In fact, there is a story about the metamorphosis of how a human became a cockroach! It is about a human that goes through the process of the physical change, which is impossible to occur in the world. There are two reasons why I do not like this story about a human that becomes a cockroach.

First, I do not like it because it is a fiction story. The metamorphosis of a human became a cockroach is impossible. Normally, everything in the world has its own process of metamorphosis.

Second, I do not like the values of this story. This story teaches the readers to be pessimistic. This story shows the weakness of a human. It is not appropriate. All humans must be optimist to face all kinds of problems in their daily life.

In conclusion I do not like this story because it is fiction and it has no good moral values. Overall, all components of the story are good. But everything is not perfect. The value of the story teaches others to be pessimistic. These are the reasons why I do not like this story.
